Welcome to the Gordon research group. Our research interests are inherently multidisciplinary, with collaborations across many scientific fields including: advanced manufacturing, 3D materials science, data-driven alloy design, solidification processing.

Our research vision is to design and develop multifunctional materials and structures via fundamental process-structure-property relationships, advanced characterization techniques, and computationally-efficient modeling. As such, we are broadly interested in the following topics: (1) advanced manufacturing technologies - namely metal 3D Printing, (2) in-situ characterization of material behavior, and (3) coupled multi-physics experiments and simulations.
